LOCAL PRODUCTS

Preveza is a blessed place, rich in goods. On the one hand, the wetland of Amvrakikos, one of the most important wetlands of our country, rich in marine fauna. In its northern part, the lagoons of Logarou – Tsoukalios, Rodia, Mazoma and the bay of Kopraina are formed.

Olive Oil

On the other hand, the inland soil is suitable for many types of crops such as olive groves that produce excellent quality oil and fruit and vegetables such as tomatoes and potatoes and many aromatic plants.

The Amvrakikos Shrimp (Gampari)

Another delicacy representative of the region is the well-known shrimp, or gambari, whose taste is unique in the world.

The Sardine (Papalina)

The famous sardine of Preveza (every August it is honoured at the sardine festival), eaten whole and is a trademark of the region.

Roe Crumbs

In the lagoon of Lazaros there is a variety of fish such as sea bream, sole, sea bass, sea bass, vendace, with mullet as the main species.
The female of the mullet fish, the so-called Bafa (whose eggs, salted and dried, are used to make egg taraho, a dish rich in vitamins A, B, C, calcium, iron, protein and omega-3 fats). Amvrakikos egg tarragon has a special taste.

In the most mountainous areas of our country such as Kryopigi, Oropos and others, vineyards are cultivated from which very good quality wine is produced, but also many spirits such as ouzo and tsipouro (tsipouro festival in the village of Kryopigi).
