Castle of Agios Andreas | Preveza

The castle of Agios Andreas was built by the Ottomans in 1701-1702, following the destruction of Bouka castle. In 1718 to 1720, the Venetians improved the fortifications and converted the mosque into a church dedicated to Saint Andrew (Agios Andreas). In 1807 Ali Pasha had several works carried out in order to strengthen the castle. The fortification is four-sided with a bastion at each of the four corners.
